156 (Type 932) [1997 - 2005]

The winner of European Car of the Year 1998 was the Alfa Romeo 156. It was lauded for its looks, nimble chassis and sumptuous interior that stood out in the European small executive car class. The range initially offered a 3 variations of the 4 cylinder twinspark engine and the 2.5 Busso V6. They were later joined by award winning diesel version, an automatic called Selespeed, a sportwagon estate body style and finally a Q4 version with four wheel drive.
