The 9-5 replaced with 9000 as Saabs new executive car. The 9-5 was not available as a hatchback, with a cavernous estate being offered instead.
The early pre-facelift cars can be recognised from their chrome grille which stretches the full width between the headlights. The radios on these cars work slightly differently to those on later cars.
