Hyundai

Hyundai began by building Ford Cortinas under licence in 1968 and built their first car, the Pony, in 1975. For a long time in Europe they were focused on the budget end of the market, but a shift in the late noughties with the 'i' range of vehicles started marking Hyundai as a serious contender against the mainstream European brands

The rapid evolution of their cars has made for regular upgrades to the wiring looms and associated systems. Often, especially with the radios, there can be multiple versions that externally look exactly the same which interact with other components such as amplifiers or steering wheel controls in completely different ways or have different connections in to the loom.

They have grown to be the largest South Korean car manufacturer and own a controlling stake in Kia who are the second largest. They have recently shifted a large part of their focus to electrifying their range.
