Scania's brand and logo are based off the name and coat of arms of the Scania region of Sweden where they are based, the same as Saab which is why their company logos are so similar.
As a subsidiary of Traton, since 2016 Scania have been wholly owned by the Volkswagen group.
Previously they had links with Saab, and then Volvo.
As with most trucks Scanias feature 24v electrics rather than the usual 12v.
