Hummer
First marketed by AM General as a civilian version of the Humvee military vehicle, General Motors bought the brand in 1992. Through the 2000s GM expanded the range of large SUVs and started exports, before closing the brand in 2009 when the financial crisis caused demand to drop rapidly.
Hummers can still be found in moderate numbers around the world, but the 2022 electric revival is being sold under the GMC brand.
