Despite being one of the ‘big three’ car manufacturers in the USA, Chrysler’s line up is now somewhat diminished, having been overtaken by its Jeep and Dodge subsidiaries.

In the 1980s, Chrysler bought the struggling AMC, and with it acquired the successful Jeep brand, since then it has ditched the value conscious Plymouth brand and after almost collapsing in the 2008 financial crisis they merged with the Fiat group to create Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Through this merger they sold a small range in Europe, including a couple of rebadged Lancias. When this proved unsuccessful Chrysler as a seperate brand left Europe.

Since then they have been absorbed into Stellantis – a merger of FCA and the French PSA group – but their cars still use a mix of their own and Fiat technology.
