DS Automobiles is a French premium automotive brand that was founded in 2009 when it was spun off from Citroën and is a part of the PSA Group. The brand’s name pays homage to the iconic Citroën DS, which was produced from 1955 to 1975 and is considered a classic of automotive design.

DS is a portmanteau of the word for goddess in French.

In recent years, DS Automobiles has focused on expanding its presence in international markets, including China. The brand has also been involved in motorsports, with a DS Virgin Racing team competing in Formula E.
