Volvo is a renowned Swedish automotive manufacturer that traces its roots back to its establishment in 1927. The company is widely recognized for its emphasis on safety and durability.

Between 1999 and 2010 Volvo was owned by Ford and cars of this era share numerous components with some Ford cars and other brands that once made up Fords Premium Auto Group.

In 2010, Volvo Cars was acquired by Geely Holding Group, a Chinese multinational automotive company. This strategic partnership has benefitted Volvo with a major cash injection to improve their standing in the luxury and executive car world.

Volvo plan to have eliminated all fossil fuel cars from their range by 2040.
