MG
MG has a history of selling the typical British two seater sports cars. With fortunes that went up and down depending on which company they were controlled by.
In 2000 MG was part of MG Rover and along with the MGF, the MG badge was added to hotted up versions of the more staid Rover cars, creating a 4 model line up. Later on the F was updated to become the TF, the short lived RV8 supercar was release and MG had a crack at Le Mans, shortly before the collapse of MG Rover in 2005.
MG this time was sold to Nanjing Automobile of China, which produced some of the old Rover models for the Chinese market with MG badging and a limited run of the TF before they merged with Shanghai Automobile to create SAIC. Under SAIC MG Motor started producing new cars for a global audience, starting with the MG6 and then the MG3, these have been quickly followed by a range of SUVs with a strong focus on electric and hybrid cars.
