Skoda

Skoda, a Czech car manufacturer, became part of the communist planned economy after the second world war.

Cars were exported to Britain, with marketing based on them being cheap, but outdated designs and poor quality made Skoda the butt of many jokes.

After the fall of the Soviet Union, Skoda was bought by Volkswagen, and the resulting cars have turned around the companies reputation to one of high quality, well designed and good quality cars.

Many parts are shared with or very similar to equivalent cars in the Volkswagen and Seat ranges.
